Digital TV is one of the most important topics not only for the industry professionals but for all Russian citizens, who will soon get an opportunity to watch high quality TV with a wide range of TV channels. Topics and issues covered with the exhibition and forum CSTB, are closely related to the Federal target program of digitalization of broadcasting in Russia and contribute to its realization. According to the data of the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation, the program is being carried out in accordance with its initially established criteria. For today around 45 million people in 41 regions of Russia can receive the first multiplex eight channels of digital television. In 2011 the Federal budget investments into the construction of digital TV networks amounted to 4.099 billion rubles.
CSTB International Forum that became an annual meeting place for professionals in the field of television and telecommunications and representatives of the government agencies and business, acquaints visitors with the cutting-edge trends in television and telecommunications market and promotes dialogue among industry participants and the relevant ministries. CSTB business program attracts more than three thousand specialists, and this figure is growing from year to year due to the constant expansion of the range of issues. Visitors can take part in thematic sections with most acute industry issues discussed such as the pace and technologies of transfer into digital TV, the trends in the industry legislation development, relations between operators and TV channels, services in pay-TV networks and many others. In 2013 the IP & TV Forum will be held for the second time, the 2012 Forum it was very successful and the Organizers got lots of feedback from participants and the audience.
The new for CSTB’2013 Forum will be Mobile Multimedia Forum, devoted to mobile TV, multimedia services and mobile communications, as well as the session «Smart TV – products, platforms, applications," during which there will be discussions on recent developments in the integration of television and Internet technologies. The exhibition will also feature special exhibition of Mobile Multimedia Forum and SMART TV zone.
For the first time at CSTB’2013 the exhibition will represent the French pavilion exposition with the support of UbiFrance – the Agency on French companies economic development in the world. The French companies that participated at previous CSTB exhibitions and found the event a very effective ground for the development of their business in Russia and forums will join the National exposition at CSTB’2013 CSTB'2013.
The “Bolshaya Tsifra” Awards for three years has become a significant development factor of the quality of the pay-TV content, equipment and services for digital TV. The Awards of 2013 will again have four categories of nominations: operator, equipment and technologies for digital broadcasting, new Russian television and foreign television in Russia. The new nominations on Smart TV technology opened in 2013 in category "Equipment and technologies for digital broadcasting". Call for papers that started in June, will run until October 15, 2012. The Awards ceremony will take place on January 30, 2013.
